BIO
A caring and determined professional, Shannon attributes her career success to commitment, communication, and adaptation. Her favorite quote comes from John F. Kennedy, who said that “efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.” Shannon believes that without set goals or an explicit purpose, one will struggle to find fulfillment. She is a constant goal setter and reminds herself of this quote often at school, at work, and at home.
Shannon began her career at HeimLantz as an administrative assistant/intern while she pursued her Bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland, College Park. She now serves as a staff accountant. Her responsibilities include preparing business and individual tax returns, working on audits and agreed upon procedures, assisting with litigation support, bookkeeping in Xero and QuickBooks, and consulting on technology issues. Shannon is currently continuing her education for preparation of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam in order to achieve her goal of becoming a CPA. She is currently affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Raised in Severna Park, Maryland, Shannon resides in Annapolis. She likes the area because it is surrounded by water—she developed a fondness for this during her childhood, when she would often spend the weekends boating. In her free time, Shannon enjoys being with family and friends, walking her dog, cooking, and watching movies.
